Update: SimpliSafe now offers self-monitoring, although you’ll only get notifications with the Interactive Plan. They also added a Google Assistant integration, and cloud storage is available separately from monitoring. They’ve also added a professional installation option for $79. Frontpoint no longer offers the Protect plan and now offers monthly contracts.
#Frontpoint and #SimpliSafe are two of the newer security companies. I bought a customized system from Frontpoint and the Summerford system from SimpliSafe, and I’m going to compare them in terms of system components, installation, professional monitoring, customer support, and their apps.

#Frontpoint is only a decade old, while #SimpliSafe was founded a bit earlier in 2006.
First I go over Frontpoint and SimpliSafe’s key similarities. Both systems require that you pay a monthly fee for professional monitoring, both have DIY installation, and both have similar system components- base stations, entry, motion, and glass break sensors, and indoor cameras, among others. But while SimpliSafe offers flexible, month-to-month contracting, Frontpoint only has contracts of one or three years. Frontpoint does beat SimpliSafe, however, when it comes to customer support and its mobile app. By the end of this video, you’ll have a great idea of whether Frontpoint or SimpliSafe is the right system for you.
