In this video we teach you how to factory reset Nest E. If you are moving out of a house with a Nest E thermostat or into a house with a Nest E thermostat it’s a good idea to reset the thermostat to factory settings so there is no personal information left on the device.
To reset the Nest E thermostat do the following:
1. Wake up the thermostat by tapping it or turning the dial.
2. Press the thermostat screen to open up the menu on the nest e thermostat.
3. Scroll using the ring to the gear icon which is the settings tab. Select the gear icon settings tab by pressing the Nest E thermostat.
4. Scroll through the menu icons until you reach the reset menu icon. Then click the nest thermostat to select the nest menu icon.
5. The reset screen will then show several options then select the “all settings” option and select by pressing the Nest e thermostat.
6. Rotate the dial to confirm resetting the nest e thermostat.
7. The factory reset process will have a 10 second count down timer.
