The Standard Plan costs $6 a month while the Pro plan costs $20 a month and includes professional monitoring and cellular backup. They also now have an integration with Apple HomeKit. SimpliSafe now offers self-monitoring, although you’ll only get notifications with the Interactive Plan. They also added a Google Assistant integration, and cloud storage is available separately from monitoring. They’ve also added a professional installation option for $79. In this review, I’m comparing the #abode Essentials Starter Kit to the #SimpliSafe Summerfort system. Both companies offer DIY installation, flexible, month-to-month contracting, as well as cellular backup to ensure your system stays on in the event of a power outage.

The differences between the two systems lie in monitoring, customer support, and ratings for their respective Android apps. While #abode gives you the option to self-monitor along with a professional monitoring option, all #SimpliSafe systems come with 24/7 professional monitoring, which includes a monthly fee. One drawback of abode, however, is that not all of their customer support features are available to all customers. Unless you pay at least $10 a month to abode, you won’t be able to call their support line directly, although you could receive a callback from an email. But, abode does beat SimpliSafe when it comes to its app on Android, which has higher ratings.
